WEEDS can save the world. So many of our every day, villainized weeds are actually highly useful- both medicinally and nutritionally. They are growing for a reason. Their pesky presence in your lawn or garden is working to purify the planet and restore the earth- through the soil, the air and it’s people. Check out the links below for some more information on our most nutritious and medicinal weeds from the one and only Susan Weed
Inspiration for a little something-something, coming soon…
Huang Di said, “The months of the Spring season bring about the revitalization of all things in nature. It is the time of birth. This is when Heaven and Earth are reborn. During this season it is advisable to retire early and arise early. Also, go walking in order to absorb the fresh, invigorating energy. Since this is the season in which the universal energy begins anew and rejuvenates, one should attempt to correspond to it directly by being open and unsupressed, both physically and emotionally.
“On the physical level is good to exercise more frequently and wear loose-fitting clothing. This is the time to do stretching exercises to loosen up the tendons and muscles. Emotionally, it is good to develop equanimity. This is because Spring is the season of the Liver, and indulgence in anger, frustration, depression, sadness, or excess emotion can injure the Liver. Furthermore, violating the natural order of Spring will cause cold disease, illness inflicted by atmospheric cold, during summer.
“Members of ancient and indigenous cultures when asked where in their bodies they live, they gesture to the region of the chest. Members of our culture, on the other hand, point to the head. For those locating themselves in the heart and those locating themselves in the brain experience the world in quite different ways. Realms of experience, open to those who approach the world through the heart, are simply not perceivable to those who experience it through the brain.
One of the most important recognitions emerging through recent studies of the heart is that our individual organs, as well as the entire human organism itself, are not linear expressions, but are highly complex nonlinear organisms in which the whole is far more than the sum of its parts.
The heart contains what are called pacemaker cells, which synchronize with each other to set a regular rhythm. Individual pacemaker cells are tightly coupled by the millions in the heart. The electromagnetic field they produce together is 5,000 times stronger than the brain’s EM field and can be measured by the most sensitive instruments up to ten feet from the body, and continues out indefinitely into space.
A few years ago, I was intrigued by the cover of this book (not knowing who Ram Dass was) and pulled it off the shelf at my grandmother house. She let me keep it but it fell into the abyss that is my ‘”want-to-read section” of my library. After slowly reading Be Here Now over the past year, I recently picked this back up and am finding it so relavent to my (our) life (lives). I understand why and am grateful for our world of synchronicity and why i chose to wait and read his thoughts on the dance that is the evolution of consciousness now.
excerpts from a Ram Dass in The Only Dance There Is
The only thing you have to offer another human being, ever, is your own state of being…but everything you do, wheather your cooking food or doing therapy or being a student or wheather your a lover, you are only doing your own being, you are only manifesting how evolved a consciousness you are, thats what your doing with other human beings. Thats the only dance there is! 6
Since i understand that as man up-levels his own consciousness, he sees more creative solutions to the one he is solving. 42
The truth is everywhere. Wherever you are, it’s right where you are, when you can see it. And you can see it through whatever vehicle you are working with, you can f r e e yourself from certain attachments that keep you from s e e i n g it. The scientist doesn’t stop being a scientist, nor anybody stop being anything. You find how do things to yourself which allow you to find the truth where you are at that moment. I’d say we never find out anything new; we just remember it. 54
