Home Made Herbal Goodies

by harmoniousvibrations

This past holiday season, I wanted to make my friends and family something infused with love to last them throughout the year. I decided to make a few things…salves- one for the ladies and one for the fellas, dream pillows and oatscrubs.

Moon Garden 2011

by harmoniousvibrations

Moonflower.photo by Morgan DeVoe.

This year, we were excited to go all out with garden space we have at our Elm St Castle. Morganalefay & EternalInnerSmile busted their humps cleaning up the beds and fixing the weathered greenhouse that we are also SO lucky to have on the property.  They started the bounty of veggies, tons of cooking herbs and many many medicinal herbs. Not sure what to flourish next, I decided to surprise the girls with a little project of my own- a Witch Inspired Moon Garden.

Elm St Castle Weekend Sessions: djembe love

by harmoniousvibrations

Making the most of our wonderful home and along with our cura te ipsum path…we decided to start spending time with some of the influential people in our lives and clear the space for expansion, education and understanding on our own terms. Studying the things we want to, with those who are willing to teach us.

Installation numero uno: Djembe making with Kyle Neidig

Our first guest was a long time friend of mine, the one and only mr. Kyle Neidig <3 musician, artisan, cat-whisper, & chef extraordinaire!  For more about Kyle, see his bio below.

Plus I knew if I had one,  I wanted to make it myself, making the task that much more daunting. I knew eternalinnersmile and morganalafay shared this desire- we had causually mentioned it from time to time but without any real plans…

Then, at  the new england’s women’s herbal conference, Mz. Amani and the heartbeats were beyond words- so captivating, majestic, and primal. They were the spark that ignited our lingering desires into what was now a fiery need-  a need to satisify our primal right to build, grown and heal through drumming- NOW. It was decided, the time had come…

Jewelweed for Poison Ivy Relief

by harmoniousvibrations

Over the summer, Miss Audrey and I were lucky enough to have a slight run in with, what must have been a killer-super-mutated (likely Monsanto modified) strain of  poison ivy on Block Island.  While attempting to tame the beast of the itch for Audrey, whose case was far, far worse than mine :( , I gathered up some local Jewelweed, or Impatiens capensis.

Then I gathered some chamomile and caledula from our garden.
