We all know how satisfying it is to walk barefoot through a field of grass. Research has shown that there are benefits to being connected to the earth in this way that reach beyond simply eliciting a smile.
Our bodies conduct electricity, and therefore operate within the electric field of our surroundings. This concept is the basis behind Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which uses a magnetic field and radio pulses to align the atoms in our body and produce an image of our organs and soft tissues. Thus, in addition to being affected by the quality of our food, air and water; we are affected by our electromagnetic environment. In today’s modern world, we are surrounded by electromagnetic field generating objects, such as computers and cell phones. Just like an electrical circuit, we need to be grounded to the earth to run efficiently and to avoid static build-up. We can achieve this by simply walking barefoot on grass, dirt or sand. The earth is full of free negatively charged electrons that can help to properly align our cells, and quench the free radicals that wreak havoc in our bodies.

Great video discussing the ploys used to manipulate data and research trials by the science community…Naturopaths are not innocent in this! He calls us out, and hes right- well at least partially
He begins by discussing the flaws in medicine headlines and in using authoritative data (ie Doctors say), in-vitro, and self reporting forms of data collection. This directly effects NDs because this something you will be fighting against your whole career. Patients will come in with “studies” showing your treatment choice is ineffective or that this other natural treatment is better because it has a study supporting it. You have to be up on the research, be able to interperet and identify whats accurate and whats crap, always keeping in mind…who is sponsoring the trials.

“Members of ancient and indigenous cultures when asked where in their bodies they live, they gesture to the region of the chest. Members of our culture, on the other hand, point to the head. For those locating themselves in the heart and those locating themselves in the brain experience the world in quite different ways. Realms of experience, open to those who approach the world through the heart, are simply not perceivable to those who experience it through the brain.
One of the most important recognitions emerging through recent studies of the heart is that our individual organs, as well as the entire human organism itself, are not linear expressions, but are highly complex nonlinear organisms in which the whole is far more than the sum of its parts.
The heart contains what are called pacemaker cells, which synchronize with each other to set a regular rhythm. Individual pacemaker cells are tightly coupled by the millions in the heart. The electromagnetic field they produce together is 5,000 times stronger than the brain’s EM field and can be measured by the most sensitive instruments up to ten feet from the body, and continues out indefinitely into space.
